STONE TOWN

Stone Town is the old city and cultural heart of Zanzibar, Also known as Mji Mkongwe, it’s the ancient part of Zanzibar City where you can spend many idle hours and days just wandering through the fascinating labyrinth of narrow streets and alleyways.

After arriving in Stone Town, the guide will introduce you to all the buildings of interest and famous viewpoints. Stone town and its buildings are full of history and stories of the ancient times when Sultans, Arabs, Europeans and Zanzibaris wrote the history of this beautiful island. You will visit the Anglican Cathedral and the Slave markets, the Palace of the Sultans, Tip Tip’s House, the Old Arabic Fort, Forodhani Park and of course the famous Zanzibar Doors while walking in the narrow streets. We will show you Henna Art and bring you to the fruit and vegetable market. So be prepared for a walk through the long history of Zanzibar and its numerous rulers.

SPICE TOUR

After arriving at the spice farm, you will first receive a short introduction in how to cook Swahili style with our many spices - Swahili cooking at its best! Then you will enjoy a delicious Swahili style buffet lunch. After lunch, you will enjoy a tour through the farm learning about each and every spice you can find on Zanzibar. You wouldn’t believe it if you haven’t seen it for yourself; did you know that the Cinnamon Tree has 3 different smells? After you have finished your tour you will enjoy a fruit tasting from fruits harvested on the farm and after being fully packed with nature’s secrets, you will have time to buy spices, soaps and crèmes which are all hand made by the community within the farm and also enjoy a free lesson on traditional weaving.

MANGAPWANI CORAL CAVE

The Mangapwani coral cave tour is a great adventure to one of the historical caves in Zanzibar that has existed for numerous decades. The Slave Chambers was a property of Mohammed Bin Nassor Al-Alwi around 1880 from the cave and connected to the seaside 2kms away, the area is surrounded by varieties of indigenous trees such as Breadfruit, Rambo tans and scent shrubs. It was an important transit point for the captured slaves to be sold to the outside world at the time of the abolishment of slavery in 1873 especial in the middle East. Between 1880-1905, the Slave chamber was being used as a place of concealment of the human cargo pending their disposal. A utilized as the hideout by the Arabs for their human cargo ready for shipment.
